ABOUT you

A courageous and self-aware individual

You are a vast human, built from your unique and special set of experiences, ancestry, culture, purpose, and vision. You long to feel whole, to consume space, to not feel so fractured as you attend to your life’s responsibilities. Maybe you feel like a fraud sometimes or you wonder how everyone seems to be “holding it together” while you are just hanging on. (Spoiler alert: everyone, e-v-e-r-y-o-n-e, feels that way.)

Can you hear it? It’s your own wise mind speaking, whispering, maybe yelling at you. You are scared, but you are ready: to dig deep, to be real, to give up the pretense.

Whoever you are, no matter how lonely,

the world offers itself to your imagination,

calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting —

over and over announcing your place

in the family of things.

EXPERIENCE

Trauma responsive coach, consultant, and facilitator

My ancestors emigrated to the United States from the Czech Republic, arriving in Kansas just in time to greet the Dust Bowl. As a young child, I touched the bright needlework on my grandmother’s square-dancing dresses and channeled her whole-heartedness, tenacity, and creativity.

After almost 20 years working as a freelance professional and business owner, I still feel Grandma Rose’s inventiveness, compassion, and perseverance as I wordsmith a communication, thoughtfully listen to a client, or guide a board toward determining their vision.

I am an experienced and award-winning facilitator and coach, a community organizer, and published writer. I hold my BS in Community Psychology, with a focus on group work and systems dynamics, and an MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with an emphasis on trauma responsiveness. I am certified with the National Board for Certified Counselors. I am a member of the Association for Women in Communications, Association for Specialists in Group Work, American Counseling Association, and part of the Center for Creative Leadership.

I am deeply committed to the curation of beauty and fun. I believe deeply in honoring the whole person, recognizing our full humanity, and working to find alignment between our actions and our values.
